Mosquito repellent is now available as a Medicaid benefit!
Beginning August 9, 2016, Texas Medicaid will cover certain mosquito repellent products as a Medicaid benefit for the prevention of Zika virus. Zika can cause severe birth defects in unborn children whose mothers are infected while pregnant. Because there is not a vaccine to prevent the disease or medicine to treat it, it is important for women to use repellent to protect themselves and unborn babies.

We are a local, non-profit
company that cares about our community. Our health plan provides health
care for CHIP and STAR (Medicaid) members in the Tarrant service area.
The counties include: Tarrant, Johnson, Denton, Parker, Hood, and Wise.
Cook Children's Health Plan offers quality health care plans that you can
afford for the whole family. The CHIP and STAR programs allow you to choose from
many doctors, clinics, hospitals, and specialty services.
We have staff that speaks English and Spanish. We can also help you if you
need assistance in understanding or reading any of our handbooks or directories.

If you get benefits through Medicaid's STAR, STAR+PLUS, or STAR Health program,
call your medical or dental plan first. If you don't get the help you need
