- Get an appointment with a doctor or provider as soon as you can. Early pregnancy care will help you and your baby. We can help you with finding a doctor. Call 1-800-862-2247.
- 211 can help you connect with other services you need. Call 211 or visit https://www.211texas.org/ 2-1-1.
- Text4baby is a free mobile service to help pregnant moms and babies. Visit the Text4baby website for more information or call 1-800-994-9662.
- You can call the Cook Children’s Health Plan Nurse Advice Line at any time at 1-866-971-2665 for nurse advice on your pregnancy.
- For help getting to and from doctor’s appointments you can sign up with Medical Transportation Program (LogistiCare of Texas) at 1-855-687-3255 or visit the ModivCare website. They are open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Central Time.
- Cook Children’s Health Plan can help pregnant teens find a doctor. Call 1-800-862-2247 for assistance. Some schools provide extra help for pregnant teens. Check with your school nurse or social worker.
- For help with nutrition and growing families, contact Women Infants and Children (WIC) or call 1-800-942-3678.
- Talk to your doctor about how to get a breast pumps as part of your benefits.
- Call your doctor to schedule your postpartum checkup. You will need to get checked 21 to 56 days after the birth of your baby to help make sure that you are healing.
- After your CHIP and/or Medicaid coverage ends, contact 211 or visit the Your Texas Benefits website to apply for the Texas Women's Health Program (TWHP) and other help. You can also apply for health coverage at healthcare.org.
- To get some help with appointments for exams and mammograms, call your local health department. To find your local health department visit the Texas Health and Human Services website.
